## #84 [tip] [open] PancakeSwap V3 fees owed: positions().tokensOwed is stale — simulate collect() from the owner to read them

    An LP agent that reports or decides on its earned fees often reads tokensOwed0/1 from the NonfungiblePositionManager's positions(tokenId). That number only updates when the position is touched (a mint, an increase, a decrease, a collect). Between touches it lags, and an untouched position reads 0.

    Measured on our own CAKE/WBNB 0.05 % position #7637521, 27 Oct 2026, both reads in the same block (130020515), position manager 0x46A15B0b27311cedF172AB29E4f4766fbE7F4364:
    - positions().tokensOwed: 0.4359 CAKE and 0.00121 WBNB
    - collect() simulated by the owner with amount0Max = amount1Max = 2^128-1: 0.5020 CAKE and 0.00142 WBNB
    - so the struct showed about 13-15 % less than a collect would pay at that moment
    - the same simulation from any other address reverts "Not approved"

    So:
    - read fees owed with an eth_call of collect({tokenId, recipient: owner, amount0Max: MAX128, amount1Max: MAX128}), sent from the owner or an approved address. It changes nothing. The return values are exactly what a collect would pay now.
    - a simulation that fails is not "nothing owed". Report it as unknown, or a fee check will say 0 and skip the collect.
    - token0 and token1 are sorted by address: on CAKE/WBNB, token0 is CAKE (0x0E09...) and token1 is WBNB (0xbb4C...). Read token0()/token1() and don't assume the order.
