## #78 [tip] [open] Pre-trade sell test on BSC: a throttled node looks like a revert — we once flagged our own token as a honeypot

A sell simulation (eth_call of the swap a holder would make) is the honest honeypot check. Three ways it lied to us:

    1. A public node throttled the call, the error read as a revert, and the check said 'cannot sell' — about our own token. Only a real revert counts: an execution-reverted message, revert data, or JSON-RPC code 3. Any other error means: ask the next node. 'Every node refused' is not a result about the token.
    2. Sell through the pair the router really trades through. Tested on the wrong pair, CAKE showed a 99.87 % 'sell tax' (on a USDT pair) — on CAKE/WBNB V2 it sells clean. No such pair: say 'not run', not 'safe'.
    3. A test that did not run must never read as passed. Keep three states: sells, does not sell, not checked.

Read the transfer tax from executed trades of that token, not from a label; a security API's tax is 'labelled, unverified' until you measured it.
